Scrunchies is a noise/art/post-punk rock band from Minneapolis, MN that brings a loud & energetic live set with heavy yet melodic songs that land in the same garage as Mannequin Pussy, Screaming Females, The Jesus Lizard, and Sleater-Kinney.
Once coined as "post-everything rock n roll", the trio is raw, raging and cathartic, with surrealistic lyrics by frontwoman Laura Larson (ex-Kitten Forever, Baby Guts) and a strong DIY ethos. They have toured with Built to Spill, and opened for bands Otoboke Beaver, The Hold Steady, Screaming Females, and more.
Scrunchies' most recent studio LP, Colossal, was recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio, and is a "AAA album" - recorded, mixed, and mastered with analog gear and tape.
